What application file formats can i.Doc convert to PDF?

Basically any application file format can be converted by i.Doc. Those that are not supported at the moment can easily be included as requested.

Currently i.Doc supports:
MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, WordPerfect, Visio, Plain Text and PostScript.

Can i.Doc support more applications?

What hardware does i.Doc require to run?

i.Doc can be run on one computer or processing can be distributed over different servers. In small environments all i.Doc servers can be run on one computer, but system reliability and capacity can be improved significantly by adding one or more computers in the configuration. In the case of multiple server configuration there is a backup computer which takes over the processing in the case one computer is not available.

What happens if i.Doc just cannot convert the document e.g. because of a corrupted file?

In i.Doc’s configuration it is possible to define how many times i.Doc will try converting a file and in which way. After the conversion has been tried the number of times defined in the configuration i.Doc returns an error and continues with the next file conversion. In the case the file is so badly corrupted that one of the third party applications hangs i.Doc takes care of recovery process and restores the computer to operation.

What kind of volume can i.Doc handle?

It is difficult to give exact figures because the total capacity depends on many variables such as file sizes, hardware, etc. but, in real operation i.Doc has been proven to handle about 30,000 conversions in 8 hours and, in this case, files were real production files of which some were really large, and the configuration included one i.Doc Foundation Server and two Conversion Units.
